Caleb Kauffman - DPT

  • Cert SMT/DN

  • Dip. Osteopractic

  • FAAOMPT

Dr. Kauffmann’s interest in Physical Therapy started while in high school, having suffered several minor injuries to the hip, ankle, and foot while playing soccer and hockey. It was only after Physical Therapy school that he realized these injuries could have been avoided and were a result of poor training. After a brief detour studying criminal justice for one semester, he began the seven-year process of becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy. During this time, he continued playing soccer, started focusing on strength and conditioning, and completed running races of all distances (5K and 10K. Half, full, and ultra marathons). After an unfortunate, and foolish, foot fracture that resulted in surgery, Caleb had his initial first-hand experience with Physical Therapy at a foot and ankle clinic. This experience transitioned into a clinical internship, opening his eyes to how effective and helpful PT can be. It was during this internship that he understood that PT is not just exercise and stretching, but a doctoring profession that requires a depth of knowledge and critical thinking. After this experience, studying and learning became the priority because it opened his eyes to the value of the profession.

Dr. Kauffmann holds not only a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology (Liberty University) and Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT, Lynchburg College), but also post-graduate designations in Spinal Manipulation Therapy (Cert SMT, Spinal Manipulation Institute), Dry Needling Therapy (Cert DN, Dry Needling Institute), and Osteopractic Physical Therapy (Dip. Osteopractic, American Academy of Manipulative Therapy). Dr. Kauffmann is also fellowship trained (FAAOMPT, American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists), a distinction held by only a small fraction of the profession.
